Liberia is perceived as having progressed in the fight against corruption over the last few years since the 2003 Accra Comprehensive Peace Accord. In particular, President Sirleaf has demonstrated a strong leadership on anti-corruption issues which has translated into ensuring the independence of the General Auditing Commission, supporting the establishment of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, promoting transparent financial management, public procurement and budget processes and assuring Liberia's compliance with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) through the Liberian EITI law, but yet over half of the country 3.5 million population live on less than one United States Dollars a day all because of corruption, bad governance and the lack of integrity.

the 2nd Edition of the Voices Against Corruption Forum a program aimed at fostering actions for integrity within the Liberian society by promoting (a) open discussion on the related issues, (b) disseminating information on what individuals and groups of individuals can do to curb corruption and the Forum also seeks to make space for concerned and marginalized groups especially youths to voice their opinion and put forward solutions. The program will bring together participants from various sectors of the society including government officials, national non-governmental organizations, youth groups, students and other stakeholders.
